This workshop will allow attendees to see and play examples of educational games and the opportunity to create their own STEM game. Participants will learn the steps from ideation through manufacturing of an analog educational game. A backward design model will be the basis for game creation. Attendees are recommended to have some basic knowledge and experience playing board games in order to be successful.

Brinley Kantorski is the Director of Education and Multimedia Development at The Partnership in Education, a non-profit educational media company. She is an award-winning educator from Pittsburgh, PA, who has spent the past 15 years developing educational multimedia. She has created mobile apps, classroom teaching materials, board games, and interactive online resources on a variety of topics including: evolution, regenerative medicine, genetics, neuroscience, human health, immunology, and developmental biology. Her research interests include evaluating the effectiveness of educational multimedia and its impact on students’ ability to acquire and retain science content knowledge. When she is not working you can find her gaming (board and video!), knitting, or camping in a state park.
